Wow! I remember typing out the first Fire and Forget location report as if it was yesterday. And now, here we are at the end…
The book is with the editor now. There is still some work to be done, but the heavy lifting is finally over!
I’ll reveal the cover for the new Thomas Caine thriller HERE, Tuesday October 9th, 8:00am. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy one last look at some of the thrilling and exotic locations Caine visits in Fire and Forget!
THE SUDD
After a mishap on the White Nile River, Caine finds himself traveling on foot through the impenetrable swampland known as The Sudd. This vast wetlands grows and shrinks depending on weather conditions, but can reach an area over 130,000 square km… about the size of England!
The Sudd is a thick bog, dense with reeds, grass, and clumps of shifting vegetation. It is sparsely inhabited, and considered impassable by many travelers. Caine must dig into the last of his strength reserves to guide himself and his companion to safety though this treacherous swamp.
GEORGETOWN , WASHINGTON DC
While Caine traverses the war torn country of South Sudan, Rebecca Freeling must make a much shorter, but no less dangerous journey, through Georgetown, Washington DC.
Assigned to transport former NSA Director Ted Lapinski to a Senate Intelligence Hearing, she accompanies the FBI and a team of Federal Marshals on a twenty minute drive through the picturesque streets of our nation’s capital. Security is high, and Lapinski is set to blow the lid off a conspiracy that reaches deep into the heart of the United States Intelligence Community… and possibly beyond!
MIHINGO LODGE, UGANDA
Caine ends his harrowing journey through East Africa at the spectacular Mihingo Lodge, in Uganda. Perched at the top of a rocky kopje hill, the lodge looks out over the stunning vistas of Lake Mburo National Park.
The lodge is an environmentally friendly oasis, designed to blend in with its surroundings. The watering hole below plays host to herds of impala, zebra, warthogs, and even the occasional leopard.
It’s the perfect place for a predator like Caine to recover from his recent ordeal… assuming he survives!
And that’s a wrap! I’m planning to get the book out before the end of fall, and very soon I will send out a request for Advance Readers. The Advance Reader Team gets a free copy of the book before release, in return for posting an honest review on launch day… so keep your eyes out for the next Caine Report email!
Please don’t forget to check out the cover reveal HERE, Tuesday October 9th, 8:00am.
I hope you all enjoyed this sneak peak into Caine’s latest adventure. I had a blast taking a virtual journey though East Africa, and I can’t wait to get the new book in your hands!
Fire and Forget will be out soon, but in the meantime, you can check out the first three books in the series, Devil’s Due, Tokyo Black, and Red Phoenix. They’re all free in Kindle Unlimited, and available on Audible as well.
Finally, as always, thank you for your reviews and emails…I read each and every one, and they mean the world to me.
Cheers,
Andrew Warren
